Spiritual victory is not a feeling or a one-time event. It is a daily walk of depending on Christ. The Christian does not fight for victory as though Christ has not won; rather, the Christian fights from Christ’s victory, enforcing what He has already accomplished through His death and resurrection.
So it is safe to call believers “the enforcers of Christ’s victory.”
Like we have the Avengers… Most of them put on suits that make them supernatural or powerful. Remember as I said. Christians are the enforcers. That is enforcing the victory of Christ here on earth.
So also as the enforcers…. We have a suit that makes us powerful, just like Iron Man, Spider-Man, etc.
And this suit is called the armour of God.
Eph. 6.11 – Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph. 6.12 – For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph. 6.13 – Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph. 6.14 – Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph. 6.15 – And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph. 6.16 – Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph. 6.17 – And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Eph. 6.18 – Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
All through this period we will be looking at the armour of God piece by piece.
So the first piece is the Belt of Truth.
I was wondering why the first thing mentioned is not prayer, not fasting, not speaking in tongues.
Then I realised it’s the foundation where other armour is built on.
And the Bible says that if the foundation be destroyed,
Ps.11.3 – If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
As the name implies, the Belt of Truth
If you are a liar, you are not fit to wear this belt.
You know that belt goes round your waist.
So this also must be around your life. That means all round your life.
John 8.44 – Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.
Prov. 11.20 They who are willfully contrary in heart are extremely disgusting and shamefully vile in the eyes of the Lord, but such as are blameless and wholehearted in their ways are His delight! [AMP]
GOD can’t stand deceivers, but oh how he relishes integrity. [MSB]
They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight. [KJV]
The LORD detests men of perverse heart, but he delights in those whose ways are blameless. [NIV]
The LORD hates people with twisted hearts, but he delights in those who have integrity. [NLT]

Prov.12.22 Lying lips are extremely disgusting and hateful to the Lord, but they who deal faithfully are His delight. [AMP]
God can’t stomach liars; he loves the company of those who keep their word. [MSB]

Prov. 6.16 – These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
Prov. 6.17 – A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood.
Prov. 6.18 – An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
Prov. 6.19 – A false witness that speaketh lies and he that soweth discord among brethren.
The first thing we must realise is that integrity and honesty should be our watchword if we must wear this suit. And integrity is one of the viruses falling in our world today even among believers; no wonder we have many battles being lost. Let’s take a look at the significance of the belt by Roman soldiers since the scriptures used them as a picture to depict what God is saying.
The belt worn by soldiers in the Roman army was called the cingulum militare. It was much more than something that held up clothing. It had several important functions:
1. It identified the wearer as a soldier. The cingulum was a symbol of military status. Even when a soldier wasn’t wearing full armor, the belt marked him as a member of the Roman army.
2. It carried weapons. The belt supported the soldier’s sword (gladius) and sometimes a dagger (pugio), making them easy to access during battle.
3. It helped distribute weight. By supporting weapons and some equipment, it made carrying military gear more comfortable.
4. It offered limited protection. Many cingula had leather straps with metal studs hanging over the groin and lower abdomen. These provided some protection while also helping to deflect blows.
5. It represented honour and discipline. The belt was part of a soldier’s identity. Losing it as punishment was considered a serious disgrace because it symbolised the loss of military honour.
Spiritual significance
Just as the Roman belt held the soldier’s weapons, secured his clothing, prepared him for battle, and identified him as a soldier, truth in the Christian life holds every other spiritual virtue together, prepares believers for spiritual warfare, provides stability, and identifies a follower of Christ as someone who walks in integrity. Without the belt, a Roman soldier was less prepared for battle. Likewise, without truth, a believer becomes vulnerable in spiritual warfare.
Disadvantages of not wearing the belt of Truth
1. You are expose
Eccl. 10.8 – He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.
2. It restrict your progress
Prov.6.16 – These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

Prov.6.19 – A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
3. Makes you helpless
Ps.101.7 – He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.
Lastly,
4. It can make you miss heaven
Rev.21.8 – But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
No matter what, endeavour to walk in the truth, even if it costs you your life. One of the things God cannot stand is a lying spirit. Just ask the devil—his downfall began with pride and deception. The sad irony is that lying has become so common in our world today, even among believers. As followers of Christ, we are called to live lives marked by honesty, integrity, and truth.
May none of us miss heaven because of unrepented sin. In Jesus’ name, amen.
