Reigning by Revelation

🏆 Reigning by Revelation

Text: Revelation 1:5–6

“…And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”

🔑 Introduction

In redemption, reigning is our birthright.

But even though it is our birthright, the devil still contests it.

📖 Deut. 2:24 – God gave Israel the land, but told them to *“possess it and contend with him in battle.”

👉 One of the ways we contend is by Revelation.

📌 What is Revelation?

Revelation = uncovering, disclosure, or revealed knowledge.

It is what God shows you that gives you an edge in life.

Revelation is light – and light always masters darkness.

⚡ Darkness = absence of light.
Where light shows up, darkness disappears.

🙌 Eve fell because of lack of knowledge.
🙌 Jesus triumphed because of the fullness of knowledge.

đź›  How Do We Access Revelation?

  1. Through the Help of the Holy Spirit

The Bible is inspired by the Spirit and must be interpreted by Him.

2 Tim. 3:16–17

2 Pet. 1:20–21

The Word is open but sealed until the Holy Spirit unveils it.

  1. Through Meditation

Meditation = thinking deeply, reflecting, or focusing on the Word.

It is in meditation that we draw the nutrients out of Scripture.

The devil doesn’t mind you reading; he fights you when you meditate.

📖 2 Cor. 3:6 – “The letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life.”

➡️ Meditation digests the Word into your spiritual system.

Rom. 12:2 – Our minds are renewed through meditation.

Meditation engenders focus – and focus magnifies what you see.

Ps. 34:5 – “They looked unto Him… and were not ashamed.”

đź‘‘ Examples of Meditation in Scripture

  1. God (Genesis 1) – Spirit moved, God spoke → Creation.
  2. Jesus (John 8:1–12) – Wrote on the ground before answering accusers → Wisdom & Light revealed.
  3. Prodigal Son (Luke 15:17) – “He came to himself” → Restoration.

🌱 Why Revelation is Key

Without understanding, the Word cannot produce fruit.
📖 Matt. 13:19–23 – Only those who understand bear fruit.

A believer without revelation remains like a child–an heir who is no different from a servant.
📖 Gal. 4:1 – “Though he owns all, he cannot access it until he grows.”

🎯 Conclusion

Revelation is your key to reigning.

What you don’t know, you’ll pay for—even if Christ already paid for it.

Revelation transforms reading the Bible from a religious duty into a life-giving encounter.
