Text: Romans 10:8–12

Introduction

Confession brings safety.

Victory never comes without a fight (contention).

Bishop David Oyedepo once said: “Life is a battlefield, not a playground.”

The fight you avoid today will confront you tomorrow.

What you say determines what follows you.

What you say determines what accompanies you.

God created the world by words (Hebrews 11:3) and expects us to be co-creators through our words.

The Co-Joined Voices

In the spiritual realm, two voices are inseparable — they work together for your victory:

• The voice of your heart
• The voice of your mouth (Mark 11:23)

1. The Heart — The Engine Room of Faith

The heart is the engine room of a believer’s victory (Romans 10:6).

We must guard what enters our heart.

A voice that speaks from the heart is the voice of faith.

Your heart determines what you say, and what you say determines what you see.

Even your heart has a voice (1 Samuel 1:17).

• The Mouth — The Operational Office of Faith

The mouth is like the steering wheel of a believer’s victory.

Why watch your mouth?

There is no margin for error in the spirit realm (Ecclesiastes 5:6).

Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21).

If you cannot publicly proclaim your victory, you cannot publicly reclaim your victory.

We are already victorious in Christ — our words lay hold of it.

Three Things That Happen When You Speak

• Satan Bows Out — God gives you a mouth and wisdom your adversaries cannot resist (Luke 21:15).
• Angels Carry Out — Angels are ministering spirits sent to serve believers (Hebrews 1:14).

What you say today prepares your tomorrow.

• God Confirms & Performs — The Lord confirms the word of His servants (Isaiah 44:26).

Closing Charge

Guard your heart.

Direct your mouth.

Speak your way into the victory already won for you in Christ.
