TEXT: Ephesians 6:10–18, Romans 12:2
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Whatever you are able to become after redemption is primarily a function of the mind.
THE GENESIS
God created all things by His wisdom.
Man was made in the image of God. He was mandated to be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, dominate, and rule his world.
Yet man lost all because his mind—the gateway to his soul—was left unguided.
Proverbs 4:23
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
THIS IS THE NEED FOR THE HELMET OF SALVATION.
WHAT IS A HELMET?
A helmet protects the soldier’s head.
WHAT IS SALVATION?
Salvation is:
- Deliverance from the power and effects of sin.
- Deliverance from danger and difficulties.
- Preservation from destruction and failure.
- Liberation from ignorance and illusion.
WHAT IS THE HELMET OF SALVATION?
The helmet of salvation is God’s strategy for protecting our minds from the deception of the devil and enabling us to lay hold of the fullness of our salvation in Christ Jesus.
Just as a physical helmet protects the head, the command center of the body, the helmet of salvation protects the soul—its mind, emotions, and will.
WHAT MUST I DO?
The powerhouse of your destiny is your mind and your thoughts.
The architect of your future is your imagination.
What you cannot imagine, you may never produce.
1. SIEVE EVERY THOUGHT, KNOWLEDGE, IDEA, AND INSIGHT THAT COMES TO YOU.
Philippians 2:12
“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”
HOW?
Philippians 4:8
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Every piece of information or knowledge that comes to man has the potential to influence and transform him, either positively or negatively.
WATCH OUT. IT MATTERS.
1 Peter 1:9
“Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.”
At the new birth, it is our spirit that is born again—not our soul or our flesh. The transformation of the soul is part of our ongoing assignment.
The soul comprises the mind, emotions, and will—the place of knowledge, feeling, and choice.

THE POWER OF IMAGINATION — GENESIS 11:3–8
Genesis 11:3–4
“And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of all the earth.”
Genesis 11:5–6
“And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.”
Genesis 11:7–8
“Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.
So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.”
Your imagination matters. What dominates your mind can eventually influence what you build with your life.

Joshua 1:6
“Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.”

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”

“But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”

“For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.”
CONCLUSION
Thoughts and imaginations are powerful influences seeking expression and, ultimately, manifestation.
What you receive into your mind can shape what your faith conceives, what your mouth declares, and what your life produces.
Therefore, the helmet of salvation helps protect the mind and enables the shield of faith to function effectively.
Remember the definition of salvation:
Deliverance from.
Preservation from.
Liberation from.
—The works and deception of the devil.
Whatever Satan, the devil, has to offer you is already yours.
Remember Eve and Jesus.
He created nothing; therefore, he has NOTHING TO GIVE.
His strength is in DECEPTION, not in power or might.
Resist wrong thoughts.
Give no room or access to evil imaginations. Fight against every appearance of evil.
We do business on earth with TIME, NOT MONEY. When your time is up, your productivity is up.
Therefore, spend your time wisely—building yourself up in right hearing, clear seeing, and good thinking.
Guard your mind. Guard your heart. Guard your thoughts.
